Vacation Bible School

Julia Lee Moore Elementary
We have adopted Julia Lee Moore Elementary as as our local elementary school. We provide hotdogs and more for their back-to-school orientation, help with the PTO's fall festival, and help with other special needs as they arise. Our Annual Trunk or Treat is a free event open to the public as a safe place to trick or treat. Decorate your car, dress up, bring plenty of candy to share, and come join the fun! This event usually takes place Wednesday before Halloween and includes a chili supper. Visit our website again in October for more detailed information.

Sharing Fridge
The sharing fridge is just as it sounds and is akin to a "blessing box" where people take food they need or leave what they can. It is located just outside the Fellowship Hall and offers perishable food items. We have many who stock the fridge daily with donated food from local grocery stores and restaurants. Individuals can help by simply packaging food sanitarily, labeling what it is, and putting it in the fridge or freezer. For more information or to help with this ministry, contact the church office.

Angel Tree
Every December, we help families in Conway and Faulkner County to have a great Christmas. Names of families in need are placed on the tree. People who would like to sponsor these families purchase gifts for Christmas. If you would like to sponsor a child, make a donation, or place someone on our Angel Tree, contact Elizabeth Hart for more information at [email protected]

Ina's Girls Dress Ministry
Ina's Girls is dedicated to creating "pillowcase" dresses - a light weight style for all levels of sewing experience - for little girls in need around the world. The ministry, formed in summer 2013, was named in honor of long-time Salem member Ina Fulmer, and is open to all who would like to participate.
Over 100 dresses have been distributed by the United Methodist Church, the Missionary Baptist Association of America, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church to Costa Rica, the Philippines, Peru, and Guatemala. Originally meeting monthly to sew, most now bring completed dresses to church based on the pattern found on Nancy's Notions. Download the pattern HERE. |
