Hello! My name is Peaches Smith, and I am the pastor here at Salem United Methodist Church of Conway. Thanks for stopping by to check us out today. Salem offers traditional worship and casual worship called “The Well.” Salem has a wide variety of ways to connect and to get involved. So, no matter when you visit, we are a come as you are kind of church that strives to make a difference here in Conway, Arkansas, and the world.

What We believe

United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. Our foundational statement of beliefs can be found in The Book of Discipline. We share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:

God – We believe God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons.
Jesus Christ – We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of Nazareth; and his life, death, and resurrection demonstrate God’s redeeming love.
The Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s present activity in our midst. God’s leading, challenge, support, or comfort is the Holy Spirit at work.
Human Beings – We believe that we’ve been made in the image of the Creator and, therefore, have the capacity to love and care, communicate, and create.
The Church – We believe the church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.
The Bible – We believe the Bible is the written word of God and is the primary authority of our faith and practice insofar as it points to Jesus Christ as the revealed Word of God.
God’s Reign – We believe the kingdom or reign of God is both a present reality and a future hope.

Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our mission is to make disciples who make disciples that glorify God through worship, grow in discipleship, and go in service to transform the world.
Our vision is to be a diverse church that reaches the lost, hurting, and “least of these” in Conway.
We want to honor God in all that we do with the qualities and characteristics we most value. We are Caring, Friendly, Supportive, Accepting, Generous, Mission-Minded, Relational, Transparent, People of Integrity, Gracious, Loving, Passionate, Pursuing Excellence, and Authentic.
