Amen was started in 1999 by Stan and Patsy Keeler. Stan and Patsy have since moved to Chicago, but they have left behind a wonderful tradition. The goal of AMEN is to provide a meal and fellowship time for the members, friends, and neighbors of Salem. We have incorporated children and youth activities, choir practice, and Bible studies following the meal.
The cooking teams consist of volunteers. We have four teams that cook once a month. The teams are currently staffed by Salem's Sunday School classes, but everyone is encouraged to participate.
Being a member of a cooking team doesn't mean you have to know how to cook. The team is responsible for the set up, serving, and cleanup of the kitchen. There's something for everyone to do!
The meal is served at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. The children, youth, and adult activities began at 6:30 p.m. following the meal. So if you haven't signed up yet to be an Amen volunteer - Salem wants you! Check the Events Calendar for more information.
